Combination Laser From Sciton Will Revolutionize The Market

Washington, DC — March 2, 2001 — Sciton, Inc announced today at the 59th annual meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology that it has produced a laser called PROFILE that combines CONTOUR, – a 45 watt Dual Mode Erbium laser with IMAGE an 80 watt Longpulse Nd:YAG laser.

Contour has been widely accepted as the new gold standard in laser resurfacing, while the Longpulse Nd:YAG has been approved for all skin types I through VI .

According to Dan Negus, President of Sciton, Inc., “This is a unique laser solution that allows for the treatment of vascular lesions, hair removal, as well as ablative resurfacing all in one package.  As laser treatments become more accepted it is up to the industry to produce more versatile and economical solutions.&

In 1998, Sciton revolutionized the skin resurfacing market with the introduction of the Contour™ dual mode long pulse erbium laser that allows physicians to independently select the depth of ablation and coagulation.
